Meet The Face Behind Spectacles Vision Centre

I’m Marc White, the proud owner of Spectacles Vision Centre.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit running through my veins. In high school, I set up a small home maintenance company, primarily painting homes.

My family, on the other hand, was deeply rooted in the optical business. Since I wanted to be self-employed once I completed my studies, I felt that there was no better way than to do something I was already familiar with from a very young age.

Therefore, I started my own eyewear store in Mississauga in 1986 in a small strip plaza. With every passing year, I gradually enlarged the space to offer a wider variety of fashionable frames and sunglasses.

Eventually, in 2003, I shifted my family along with the business to Huntsville, Muskoka. It felt like starting all over again as I had to make changes to suit my new location and demographics. However, my motivation to help customers improve their eyesight was stronger than ever.

I’ve now been actively participating in the optical business for forty-three years. My philosophy is to “give customers the best product, at the best value with the best service possible.”

Consequently, I work with integrity, and as an individual, I believe what sets me apart from others is my honesty while educating customers about their lenses. I also attribute my success to my perseverance when carrying out repairs and adjustments.

As a result, when I can put a new pair of glasses on someone’s face and watch their eyes light up as they can see so much better than expected, it fills me with pride. It’s rewarding to produce something that changes lives in such a profound way.

When I’m not serving clients at my store, I love woodworking, home maintenance, hunting, and fishing. I also like spending quality time with my spouse, grandchildren, and my dogs.

Besides, I feel strongly about guide dogs for the blind, and I’m planning to set up a fund to collect money to purchase one or more.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things that matter to me and how they influence my business.
